Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is also the center of the Greater Lisbon sub-region. It has 504,000 inhabitants, the metropolitan area is home to about 2.8 million people. This area contains 26% of the country's population. Its inhabitants are friendly and proud of their country and their culture.

It lies at the mouth of the Tagus River and to the west on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean which gives a contrast of mountains and plains. Due to its geographical location, it is a meeting point for diverse cultures.
